The Minority Access to Political Studies  (MAPS) Preview Day is a multifaceted student-led recruitment initiative hosted by the Department of Public Policy Leadership and the UM Society for Blacks in Political Studies (BIPS). MAPS is an exclusive recruitment program designed to gain the interest of African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Asian, and Native American high school sophomores and juniors into one of four of the political studies related programs at UM. The goal of the MAPS Preview Day is to inform prospective minority students of each political studies related program, academic offerings, and campus resources. MAPS is designed to ensure a welcoming and inclusive space for participants to engage with faculty, staff, and student leaders associated with the political studies programs.
